FriendsWithYou
Rainbow Valley Playground, South Florida’s first indoor interactive playground, was designed by contemporary artists Samuel Borkson and Arturo Sandoval III for the enjoyment and cultural enrichment of little ones. Known collectively as FriendsWithYou, the artists’ intention in creating this immersive installation was “to bring more joy, kindness, and love to the world.” Referring to their moniker, the internationally beloved duo explains that it serves as a reminder that “everything in the universe can and wants to be friends with you, an aide in the promotion of love, harmony, and peace in our lives.”
And so, it is fitting that in this magical setting children befriend Peeko, the adorable baby mountain, and Cloudy, his sidekick–experiencing a benevolent microcosm of the universe, connecting with it experientially, and also giving wings to their budding imaginations. Bright primary colors; soft, rounded lines; and the inclusion of rainbows, clouds, small mountains and water, create a destination as joyful as it is inviting.
With exhibitions throughout the world, from Tokyo’s giant Happy World to the bronze Little Cloud sculpture at Nanzuka 2G Gallery in Japan, FriendsWithYou inject hope, light and a sense of wonder in the human experience.
