The Haas Brothers

Twin brothers Simon and Nikolai Haas were raised in Austin, Texas, where they were immersed in the arts at a young age. Their father was a sculptor, and their mother made a career as a talented performer, providing a creative space for the twins to thrive and develop their own artistic paths. In 2010, Simon and Nikolai founded the “The Haas Brothers,” a moniker of the artistic duo.

Their work explores nature, science fiction, psychedelia in a range of materials like brass, porcelain, resin, and polyurethane. Each conceptual piece has a deeper message, and often strike a balance between creating commentary and evoking playfulness.

The brothers, who both reside in Los Angeles, have created furniture and sculptures for a star-studded list of clientele, including Lady Gaga, Tobey Maguire, and Donatella Versace. Their work can be found at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Rhode Island of Design Museum. The Haas Brothers also have a permanent sculpture, Gorillas in the Mist, on display at Aventura Mall.
